on saturday night, june 26th, the original four members of over the rhine; karin bergquist, linford detweiler, ric hordinski, brian kelly reunited for only the second time since 1996.
the event was @ ric’s old, partially renovated church, ‘come studio; “the monastery” and “the event” was the reuniting of original members, joined by (current OtR member) jake bradley to play their classic 1996 release “good dog bad dog” in it’s entirity. many of these songs have been played sparingly and/or not at all in concert over the past decade, it was like reuniting with some long lost and missed friends again.
the show was limited to a sold-out audience of only 175 fans, with many receiving a commemorative, limited edition poster (by clinton reno) and all receiving a copy of the historic show.
in short, the evening was beautiful and lived up to it’s very high expectations.
