Over the Rhine on Good Day LA (11.11.2010)

Karin & Linford were invited on the morning show “Good Day LA” on the Thursday morning after we returned from the train trip and they invited me to come along and record the experience in pictures.

It was an interesting time (especially seeing Linford & Nick in the make-up chairs…I have pictures too!), a lot of fun and everyone at the station friendly, generous and helpful.

After their interview/performance one of the shows producers told K&L that the station manager (and VP), Kevin Hale, wanted to thank them for dropping by and escorted us (Karin, Linford, Nick, JP-Tour Manager, Glen Phillips-Manager, Michael Larcey-Sound Engineer & I) to his office.

As we arrived, he asked K&L if they had a few minutes, they said “Sure,” and he had chairs brought in for us all. As it turns out, he was a HUGE fan and had a list of prepared questions about their songs, music and writing style/technique. It was a fun and wide ranging conversation that ended with him suggesting them covering a couple of Buddy Holly songs, saying his music was perfect for Karin’s voice.

After a while, we snapped a few keepsake-type pics, said our good-byes and walked out, all kind of surprised.

Below is the interview/performance in full.
